JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 29, 2005) - The ETSU women's soccer team ended the regular season with a double overtime, 0-0 tie, against Tennessee Tech University for senior day on Saturday.The Buccaneers stand at 8-10-1, 4-6-0 in the A-Sun heading into the post season next week.
ETSU outshot TTU 11-9, in a tough defensive battle.TTU had nine corner kicks to ETSU's six, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.
"We had many scoring opportunities and we need to be able to finish them by making attacking changes," said women's head soccer coach Heather Henson."Since it was senior day, this was a very emotional game and the girls came out focused and ready to play for the seniors."
Senior Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) had four shots, including three shots on goal, and senior Meghan Morris (Bowie, Md.) added three more shots for the Bucs.Freshman goalkeeper Erin Bilyeu (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) recorded six saves in the game.
