JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (December 3, 2005) -  Senior B.J. Banjo (Baltimore, Md.) scored 19 points and matched a career best with six steals as the Lady Bucs downed Lipscomb, 74-50, for their second-consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference win, Saturday afternoon in Memorial Center.  Sophomore Jenny Norman (Peachtree City, Ga.) and rookie Adaeze Azubuike (Lexington, Ky.) also notched career marks, as the pair tallied 11 points apiece.

The Lady Bucs improve to 4-1, 2-0 A-Sun, on the season, while the Lady Bisons are still in search of a win, falling to 0-6, 0-2 A-Sun.  The Lady Bucs also won their fifth-straight in Memorial Center, dating back to last season.

Azubuike got the Lady Bucs on the board early, with a quick steal and a bucket in the first minute of play.  The rookie was on fire from the start, scoring seven of ETSU's first nine points, helping the Lady Bucs to the 9-4 lead going into the initial media timeout.

ETSU didn't slow down, extending the lead to 11 points in the first frame.  The Lady Bison cut the ETSU lead to three points on a Miriam McAlister layup with just over six minutes left in the period, but the Lady Bucs stormed back, netting the next eight points to make the score 27-16.  Banjo led the charge, scoring seven during the run.

A three by Lady Bison Catie Woods brought the lead to eight, but sophomore Michele DeVault (Columbus, Ohio) answered with a three of her own, making the lead 11 going into the locker room.  DeVault was ETSU's second-leading scorer on the day, posting 12 points on four threes.

Lipscomb was led by Jillian Partin with 10 points, followed by Woods with seven.  The Lady Bisons turned the ball over 29 times, while the Lady Bucs recorded 17 turn overs.

The Lady Bucs led by as many as 26 in the second period, reaching the margin on three occasions.  Lipscomb never got within single digits throughout the frame.

ETSU went on several runs during the second half, including an 11-point streak with just under 11 minutes to go, in which the Lady Bucs held Lipscomb scoreless for over three minutes.  DeVault drained three triples during the spurt.

Candace Gibson (Warner Robins, Ga.) paced ETSU on the boards, corralling 10 for the game, while her team out-rebounds the Lady Bisons 40-29.  The Lady Bucs were tough on the offensive glass, grabbing 18 offensive boards.  Banjo led the team in assists with five, while teammate Brooke Wilhoit (Sevierville, Tenn.) added four dishes.

ETSU hits the road next week, beginning with College of Charleston on Dec. 7.  Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Charleston, S.C.
