ETSU women's golf announces signing of Eisenhower and Sinard

Wednesday, November 16, 2005

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2005) - ETSU women's golf coach Stefanie Reynolds announced on Wednesday that Newport's Kennie Eisenhower and White Pine's Sarah Sinard have signed letters of intent to play for the Lady Buccaneers beginning with the 2006-07 season.

"It's great to bring two Tennessee natives to our program next year," Reynolds said. "They are surrounded by tremendous family and community support. It's exciting to add girls who were both born with a sense of ETSU pride."

As a standout player for Cocke County High School, Eisenhower is a three-time all-district selection, a two-time all region pick and the 2005 Region I champion. She finished the 2005 season with a 37.5 stroke average and a low round of 31.

Meanwhile, Sinard was an all-around athlete at Jefferson County High School, starting on the girls' basketball team for three years and earning all-conference, all-district and all-region honors. On the golf course, she was an all-district pick four times and all-region twice. Her career low round is 64.

"In both Kennie Leigh and Sarah Jane, we are getting two girls who love the game of golf, but more importantly, they love to compete and win," Reynolds said. "I look forward to the added competitiveness each of them will bring to our program."

The Lady Bucs will open their spring season on Feb. 24 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
