            JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 4, 2006) - The Atlantic Sun Conference announced its 2005-06 postseason men's golf awards on Thursday, with four ETSU players bringing home conference honors.

Junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) led the way by earning player of the year accolades, while sophomore Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) joined Davies as a first-team pick. Freshman Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh, Scotland) was a second-team selection, and he also joined teammate Adam Hodkinson (Dore, England) on the league's all-freshman squad.

On way to earning his second-straight player of the year honor, Davies posted a league-best 70.9 scoring average and captured a pair of individual titles. He also finished in the top-10 nine times in 12 events. He is currently ranked fourth in the GolfStat Cup Standings and fifth nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index. A whopping 61 percent of Davies' rounds this season broke par including 13 rounds in the 60's, and he won a pair of tournaments, capturing titles at both the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate and Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridges.

Shaw, meanwhile, gives the 14^th-ranked Bucs a pair of players on the first team. The youngest player on the first team, Shaw finished tied for seventh at the A-Sun Championship and ended the year second on the team in stroke average at 72.7. Meanwhile, Findlay brought home a handful of A-Sun honors during the year, including a player of the month award for February.
