JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 27, 2004) - The East Tennessee State men's tennis team concluded play Sunday afternoon in the 37th annual Southern Intercollegiate Championships Friday from the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

In Division I singles, sophomore Oscar Posada (Valencia, Valenzuela), ranked 105th nationally, fell to Scott Brown of Vanderbilt in the quarterfinals a tight, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 match.

Competing in Division II singles, sophomore Felix Insaurralde (Asuncion, Paraguay) defeated Marty Stiegwardt of Florida, 6-2, 6-4 in Sunday's quarterfinals. He then advanced to the semifinals where he was defeated by Vinicius Bortolatto of Winthrop, 1-6, 6-4, 6-0.
