Posada named SoCon men's tennis athlete of the month

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April. 5, 2005) - The Southern Conference today announced that East Tennessee State's Oscar Posada has been named as the Southern Conference's men's tennis athlete of the month for the March.

Posada recorded nine wins at the No. 1 singles position in March, including a 6-0 conference record. A sophomore from Valencia, Venezuela, Posada won the deciding match in the Bucs' wins over Appalachian State and Winthrop. He also picked up wins over College of Charleston, The Citadel, Davidson, Chattanooga and Furman. Posada is ranked 40th in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings.

Posada and the Bucs return to action Saturday, March 9 when they return home to host Georgia Southern. Match time is set for noon.
