JOHNSON CITY, TENN. (Sep. 23, 2004) - Head Lady Bucs softball coach Amy Fuller has announced the release of the 2004-2005 schedule beginning with fall competition this weekend at the Charlotte Fall Tournament. This year's upcoming schedule will feature ETSU competing in five regular season tournaments including the highly competitive Virginia Tech Tournament in late March. Also highlighting this year's schedule will be a doubleheader versus the University of Tennessee on March 9th as well as games versus in-state rivals Middle Tennessee State (March 31st) and Tennessee Tech (April 21st).

"We feel like we have put together a challenging schedule with a good combination of tournaments and non-conference games; the tournaments will give us the chance to compete with many teams that are strong regionally such as Virginia and North Carolina. We also are looking forward to playing three future Atlantic Sun opponents in Gardner Webb, Campbell, and Mercer."

The Lady Bucs will kick off their fall campaign when they travel to Charlotte, N.C. this weekend to compete in the Charlotte Fall Tournament. Games are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. versus Charlotte, 11:00 a.m. versus Southern Conference foe Furman, and the top two teams will face each other at 3:30 p.m. Coach Fuller and her staff are very excited about this weekend, including the chance to see how the newcomers will impact this year's squad.

"We are excited about playing this weekend to see how the new players mesh with our returning veterans. It will give us the opportunity to teach in game situations and evaluate where we are at this point, while giving us a better idea of what we need to focus on in preparation for the spring season," Fuller said.

ETSU will also compete in the fall tournament hosted by Appalachian State on Oct. 3rd and will open their 2005 spring season with a trip to the UNC Triangle Classic in Chapel Hill in early February. As always the Lady Bucs will play in an extremely competitive Southern Conference regular season with their sights set on the 2005 SoCon championships.
