Lady Bucs just two strokes off the lead at Unlimited Potential Bay Tree Classic
Tuesday, September 28, 2004 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Sept. 24, 2004) - Junior Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.) posted a 1-over-par 73 and freshman Natalia Giraldo (Cali, Columbia) made her collegiate debut with a 2-over 74, as the East Tennessee State University women's golf team finished two strokes off the lead Friday after one round of play in the Unlimited Potential Bay Tree Classic at the Bay Tree Golf Plantation. On the team leaderboard, Southern Conference rival Western Carolina currently leads at 300, while UNC Wilmington is one stroke back followed by the Lady Bucs. Along with Barton and Giraldo, ETSU freshmen Maria Ringdahl (Kalmar, Sweden) and Cindy Phillips (Johnson City, Tenn.) also posted scores in the 70s with a 77 and 78, respectively. Senior Danielle O'Reilly (Whistler, British Columbia) rounded out the ETSU efforts with an 81. The Lady Bucs will continue with second round play on Saturday, followed by third round play on Sunday.
