RIO GRANDE, P.R.  (Oct. 30, 2004) - Due to inclement weather the final round of the Wolrd Amateur Championships has been cancelled.  Buccaneer golfer Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) finished tied for 25th place at the World Amateur Championships from Rio Mar Country Club after three rounds of play in the event.  Finishing Saturday's round at even par, including a two-under par back nine, Davies was among the top contenders through all three rounds of the event.

Playing for Wales, Davies finished the event at two under par, 10 shots back of the leader United State of America competitor Ryan Moore at 12 under.  Fellow USA competitor Spencer Levin finished at 10 under after the third round of competition to capture second place in the event.

Wales finished in seventh place (nine under par) with the USA, Spain and Sweden rounding out the top three places respectively.
