Davies, Europeans tied with Americans at Palmer Cup

MOSEL, Wis. (June 8, 2005) - East Tennessee State sophomore Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) halved his singles match with New Mexico's Spencer Levin in a matchup of two of the nation's top three collegiate players, as the United States and Europe battled to a 6-6 tie after Wednesday's play in the Palmer Cup presented by Monster at the Whistline Straits The Irish.

After helping power Europe to victory by winning 3 of a possible four points in the 2004 Palmer Cup, Davies will be looking to rebound Thursday and win his final two points of the competition in the alternate shot and singles format. The two-day, Ryder Cup-style event will conclude on Thursday.
