ETSU student-athletes help out at Peacock Gala

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 26, 2003) -- The East Tennessee State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee spent their Sunday afternoon volunteering their time at the First Annual Peacock Gala held at the Farmhouse Gallery in Unicoi. The Peacock Gala is an Arts and Sciences Fair intended to showcase those specific programs at ETSU. Approximately 250 individuals attended the event, which included activities such as storytelling, crafts, nature walks, and bluegrass music provided by the ETSU bluegrass bands. The athletes worked at the event as greeters, provided information to attendees, and assited in managing the parking area. Farmhouse Galleries is owned and operated by Johnny, Pat and Robin Lynch. Athletes who attended included Trevor Smith, Caleb Moore and Andy Howdeshell from baseball, Rhea Holler, Julie McChain and Stephanie Gaynord of softball, and Stephen Arnold of the golf team.
