(Nov. 19, 2003) - The Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Wednesday that longtime East Tennessee State University golf coach Fred Warren will be inducted into the GCAA Hall of Fame. Warren, along with Kent State's Herb Page and Clemson's Larry Penley, will be honored at the GCAA Hall of Fame Reception on Jan. 28, 2004, in Orlando, Fla. In 1980, the GCAA began inducting outstanding college golf coaches into the Hall of Fame. To be selected to the Hall of Fame, a coach must be nominated by his peers, and then selected by the GCAA Hall of Fame Committee. Selection criteria not only include a coach's record on the golf course, but his contributions to the game, student-athletes and school. ...
