Bucs Advance Three in Singles in Day One of Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA (October 11, 2003) - The Buccaneer men's tennis team advanced three in singles action and one pair in doubles action on Friday at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Alejandro Salazar (Arequipa, Peru), advanced in singles A competition by defeating Georgia Tech's Trevor McLeod 6-7 (10), 6-2, 6-2 and University of South Carolina's Marcus Westman 6-3, 6-4. Fernando Fiuri (Villa Maria, Argentina) and Diego Iglesias (Mar del Plata, Argentina) also advanced for the Bucs to the semifinals of singles B competition by winning their first two rounds. In doubles play, Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) and Salzar won their first match to advance, while Iglesias and Moises Serrano (Buccarmanga, Colombia) fell.
