SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Mar. 24, 2004) - East Tennessee State junior tennis player Moisés Serrano has been selected as this week's TIAA-CREF SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week. Serrano was victorious against Louisville's Jakob Gustafsson in a three-set battle earlier this week, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5. This was Serrano's fourth consecutive victory on the season, coming on the heels of wins against Georgia Southern, Elon, and Tennessee Tech. Hailing from Bucaramanga, Colombia, Serrano has a 3.844 GPA as a physics major with a minor in math. TIAA-CREF, with over $290 billion in assets under management, is a Fortune 100 company and a diversified national financial services organization, including the premier retirement system for higher education and research employees.
