Charlotte, N.C. (Sept. 27, 2003) -- East Tennessee State's softball team captured the 49ers Fall Classic hosted by UNC Charlotte on Saturday. The Buccaneers defeated UNCC and Gardner-Webb in game one and two, respectively, to advance to the championship game.
Once trailing 9-0 to the 49ers, ETSU rallied back to win the tournament championship by a score of 13-9.
The Buccaneers will be in action again this weekend, when they host the ETSU Fall Round Robin Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Metro-Kiwanis Park in Johnson City.
