ETSU men finish 12th at Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions
Tuesday, October 21, 2003 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (October 21, 2003) - East Tennessee State's men's golf team was unable to make up any ground on the field Tuesday in the final round of the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions, ending the day where they began it and finishing in 12th place at the Holston Hills Country Club.The Buccaneers finished the event with a team score of 886, 37 strokes of the team champion Vanderbilt. Meanwhile, on the individual leaderboard, freshman Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) was the best ETSU performer with a three-round score of 4-over-par 220 (76-69-75), finishing tied for 28th. Davies and the rest of the field could not catch Georgia Southern's Aron Price, who took home the top individual honor. As for the rest of the Bucs, sophomore Noel Kavanagh (Westport, Ireland) finished tied for 33rd at 5-over, junior Chase Baldwin (Plant City, Fla.) ended the event tied for 35th at 6-over, junior Jeremy Hobson (Thonotosassa, Fla.) wrapped up at 7-over and tied for 44th, and junior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales) suffered through a tough day finishing tied for 70th 18-over. ETSU will wrap up its fall schedule on Nov. 1-2 at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. FINAL RESULTS
