ETSU men finish first two rounds of Intercollegiate in 12th

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (April 9, 2004) - The East Tennessee State University men's golf team posted a score of 14-over-par and finished in 12th place after two rounds of play during the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate Friday at the Macgregor Downs Country Club.

The Intercollegiate, which is hosted by North Carolina and North Carolina State, is currently being led by Kansas. The Jayhawks hold a three-stroke lead over Duke. Meanwhile, on the individual leaderboard, Wake Forest's Bill Haas netted a score of 11-under-par to lead the event by three strokes over Georgia Southern's Aron Price.

As for ETSU, the Bucs are being led by the Welsh combo of junior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales) and freshman Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales), who are both tied for 23rd at 2-over-par. In addition, juniors Chase Baldwin (Plant City, Fla.) and Jeremy Hobson (Thonotosassa, Fla.) are tied for 36th and 55th, respectively, while sophomore Andrew Paduch (Johnson City, Tenn.) is tied for 63rd. Final round play of the Intercollegiate will tee off Saturday morning.
