ETSU men's golf finishes 10th at The Intercollegiate
Davies Saturday, April 10, 2004 CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (April 10, 2004) - The East Tennessee State University men's golf team put together one of its most solid performances of the year, finishing 10th during final round play of The Intercollegiate Saturday at the Macgregor Downs Country Club. In fact, the Buccaneers (301-289-287=877) fired a season-best round of 287 on the final day.The Bucs were led by freshman Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales), who finished tied for 23rd at 2-over-par. Davies finished 17 strokes back of individual champion Bill Haas from Wake Forest. As a team, the Bucs finished at 13-over while Duke ran away with the team title with a score of 19-under, besting Kansas by 15 strokes. As for the rest of the Bucs, sophomore Andrew Paduch (Johnson City, Tenn.) finished tied for 34th at 5-ovre, while juniors Jeremy Hobson (Thonotosassa, Fla.), Chase Baldwin (Plant City, Fla.) and Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales) finished tied fro 37th, 49th and 55th, respectively. The Bucs will return to action April 18-20 when they host the Southern Conference Championships at the Ridges Golf and Country Club.
