JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (December 11, 2002) - East Tennessee State University's student-athletes helped make Christmas a little brighter for local children as the Buccaneers teamed up with the United States Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program Wednesday night.

This marked the fourth consecutive year that ETSU has worked in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. ETSU athletes representing football, men's basketball, and track and field, were in attendance to pass out gifts and interact with the kids.

"This was a lot of fun, you don't get to do things like this everyday," said ETSU freshman football player Erik Losey.

The Buccaneers would like to thank all of those who donated to Toys for Tots to help make this program possible.

"The program gets better every year," said ETSU academic advisor Kim Reece who helps to coordinate the event, "The kids and the athletes love it and it is a great way to start the holidays."
