ETSU Falls in Consolation Finals at Virginia Tech Fall Invitational

Blacksburg, Va. (September 29, 2002) - East Tennessee State University's women's tennis team concluded the final day at the Virginia Tech Fall Invitational with two consolation final appearances. Junior Courtney McInnis (Tampa, Fla.) defeated Rebecca Vanderlest of James Madison University, 7-5, 6-3, to advance into the consolation finals, where McInnis was defeated 6-4, 6-1 by Renata Caceres. Tatiana Arriarian (Cochabamba, Bolivia) and Amiee Villavincencio (Lexington, Ky.) defeated Paige Mowry and Ashley Reyher of James Madison University, 8-6 to advance into the finals of the consolation bracket where they were defeated 8-3, by Laura James of Virginia and Landis Strader of N.C. State. The Buccaneer's will return to action October 24 - 28 at the ITA Southeast Regional in Winston Salem, N.C.
