Fans invited to the Buccaneer Basketball Blastoff

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 20, 2002) - The ETSU men's basketball team will officially kick off their season with the Buccaneer Basketball Blastoff on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Firehouse Restaurant in Johnson City. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and last until 7:30. Head coach Ed DeChellis will broadcast his first radio show of the season that night from 6-7 p.m. on WJCW-AM (910) and fans will have an opportunity to meet with members of the men's basketball team. ETSU opens its season Friday, Nov. 22 at home against Guilford College. The tip is set for 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Center. The Buccaneers are entering this season as winners of back-to-back Southern Conference North Division championships and the team has been picked by the league's coaches and media as the favorite to repeat again this year. Season ticket orders will be taken the rest of this week at the West Side Ticket Booth at Memorial Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Fans are encouraged to buy their season tickets today.
