Women's Tennis Team Competes at Virginia Tech

Johnson City, Tenn.-- The East Tennessee State University women's tennis team travels to Blacksburg, Va. to compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational. The tournament will take place from Sept. 28 through Sept. 30. Sophomore Jessica Irey is matched up against Appalachian State's Katarzyna Finkowska in the Flight A bracket. Irey and Finkowska begin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning. In Flight B, Lexington, Va. native Aimee Villavicencio will face Virginia Tech's Katherine Erikkson at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Sophomore Tatiana Arrarian recieves a bye in the first round and will play the winner of Felice Lam (Virginia Tech)/Melissa Burgette (Appalachian State) at 12:30 p.m. Friday. In doubles, Irey/Arrarian will face off against Virginia Tech's Alena Sarver/Alena Simmonds at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Villavicencio teams up with Ashley Kroh of Marshall to take on Elizabeth Gordon/Katherine Eriksson of Virginia Tech. Follow the tournament online at www.hokiesportsinfo.com.
