Track Squads Compete in Clemson Opener

Track Squads Compete in Clemson Opener Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State men's and women's track & field squads opened their indoor campaign by competing in the Clemson Opener hosted by Clemson University on December 8.

In women's competition, ETSU's Roseline Addo won the 800-meter run by posting a 2:15.11, while teammate Lauren Campbell returned a 2:16.69 to garner third-place honors. Emily Campbell captured a third-place finish in the 3,000 meter run by posting a time of 10:30.41. The Bucs 4x400 meter relay team also had a successful meet by bringing home a third-place finish by with a time of 4:01.39.

In the men's competition, the Bucs' Evan Hawkins finished ninth in the 800 meter-run. David Hefner and Jamaal Saunders returned respectable performaces in the 1-mile run by placing ninth and 10th, respectively, with times of 4:38.89 and 4:40.06.

The Bucs will break for fall exams as well as the holidays before traveling to the Wildcat Invitational in Lexington, Ky. on January 12-13.
