Women's Golf in Tie for Fifth After First Round of Chris Banister Classic
Monday, March 19, 2001 Johnson City, Tenn.-- East Tennessee State junior Catalina Zuluaga shot a 14-over par 86 to tie for 15th individually and lead the Buccaneers to a tie for fifth after Mondays first round of the Chris Banister Classic from Silver Lakes Golf Course in Jacksonville, Ala. East Tennessee State shot a first-round 350 in the rainy conditions in Jacksonville, tying them with Tennessee Tech, and Southwest Missouri State. In addition to Zuluaga, three other Buccaneer golfers were in the top-27 golfers following Mondays round. Junior Mimmie Dymling and freshman Kristen Fletcher finished in a tie for 20th after shooting matching 87s (+15). Sophomore Amanda Ovington fired a 90 (+18) on the first day, placing her in a six-way tie for 27th. Sophomore Susan McKinney rounded out ETSUs day on the links, finishing in a tie for 55th with a 32-over par 104. The final round of the Chris Banister Classic will be played on Tuesday, March 20. |
