Women's Golf in Fourth After First Round of Southern Conference Championships

Johnson City, Tenn.-- East Tennessee State junior Mimmie Dymling shot a first-round 77 to finish in a tie for fifth place and lead the Buccaneer womens golf as they stand in fourth after the first round of the Southern Conference Womens Golf Championships in Boone, N.C.
East Tennessee State shot a first-round 328, 25 strokes back of the leaders, the Furman Paladins.
Dymling finished in a four-way tie, three shots back of individual leader, Brandi Jackson of Furman. Junior Catalina Zuluaga was the next Buccaneer finisher, tying for 10th at 7-over par (79). Sophomore Susan McKinney shot a 12-over par 84 to finish the first round in a tie for 21st. Freshman Kristen Fletcher finished the first round in a tie for 28th after shooting a 16-over par 88. Fellow freshman Lauren Rice rounded out ETSUs day on the links, firing a 17-over par 89 to finish the day in 30th.
The ETSU womens golf team will return to action Monday morning in the second round of the Southern Conference Womens Golf Championships from Boone, N.C.
