CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Todd Wells tossed two touchdowns passes and East Tennessee State held off Chattanooga 24-22 Saturday.

East Tennessee (5-5, 4-4) trailed 15-3 at halftime, and Wells connected with Cecil Moore on TD passes of 24 and 3 yards in the third quarter for a 18-15 lead. Vick had a chance to kick what would have been the winning field goal but he missed a 33-yarder in the quarter.
Wells was 20-of-36 for 249 yards.
Corey Carter's 1-yard run for the Buccaneers with 8:15 left in the game turned out to be the winning points. Chattanooga pulled within 24-22 on a 2-yard run by Charles McNeill with 3:17 left.
But Scott Carter picked up a first down with a 1-yard run, and East Tennessee ran out the clock to seal the victory.
