Wednesday, March 22, 2000
Johnson City, Tenn. - Head soccer coach Heather Puckett announced that Erin Lotzer (Mahtomedi, Minn.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Buccaneer program.
Lotzer, a senior at Mahtomedi High School, was a four-year starter for head coach Mike Redmond. She led her high school team to State Championships in 1997 and 1999. A two-time All-State honoree, Lotzer also earned All-Conference honors all four years of high school. She served as the team captain during her senior season.
A member of the Minnesota Olympic Development Program since 1993, Lotzer was selected to the regional team twice. Lotzer played her club soccer for head coach Tim Magnuson and the St. Croix Sadhaka. Lotzer led the team to five consecutive Minnesota State Cup Championships from 1996-2000.
"Erin's versatility and experience allow her to play many different postions in our program," Puckett said. "She has enjoyed great success at the ODP, club and high school levels that we believe will increase our overall intensity and drive to win."
Lotzer joins Heather Sanden (Manassas, Va.) and Melissa Wilder (Mount Airy, Md.) in Puckett's 2000 recruiting class.
