Wisler Finishes 22nd At Savane College All-America Golf Classic
Tuesday, November 23, 1999 JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Junior Chris Wisler finished 22nd at the 1999 Savane College All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas. Wisler shot a three-round 228 (73-79-76) and finished 15 shots over par at the par-71 El Paso Country Club Golf Course. Matt Kuchar (Georgia Tech), the 1997 U.S. Amateur Champion, won the event with a three-round 208 (69-67-72). Kuchar was tied with Brigham Young's Andy Miller after three rounds and eventually won the tournament on the third playoff hole. David Christensen (ETSU, 99), a two-time All-American, finished as the runner-up in the Savane College All-America Classic last year. Former ETSU All-Americans, Garrett Willis and Alan Strange, also have recorded top-5 finishes at this prestigious tournament. ETSU will resume its team schedule at the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, Puerto Rico from Feb. 27-29, 2000. |
