Free hot dogs for students Friday; Senior Day Saturday
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 10, 2014) - The ETSU men's and women's tennis teams will conclude league play this weekend as they host Kennesaw State Friday, April 11 and Mercer Saturday, April 12. The men's squad will take the court at 11:00 a.m., both days followed by the women's team at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Friday's match coincides with National Student-Athlete Day and will feature a complimentary grill-out courtesy of BucWild. ETSU students in attendance at the match will be provided free hotdogs beginning at noon.
Additionally, Saturday's match will serve as Senior Day for both squads.
Prior to the men's match at 11:00 a.m., the team will recognize the career achievements of senior Roger Ordeig (Gurb, Spain), who has won a combined 98 matches during the past four seasons. Since 2010-11, the Gurb, Spain, native has compiled a singles record of 26-3 in Atlantic Sun play, helping the Bucs to the three A-Sun titles.
Seniors Giulia Andreazza (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil), Salma Dahbi (Marrakech, Morocco), and Sofia Espana (Mexico City, Mexico) prior to the start of the ETSU Women's Tennis match at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Together, the three have combined to win nearly 150 matches over the past four seasons. Andreazza was a member of ETSU's A-Sun Championship team in 2011.

The 66th-ranked Buccaneers (10-8, 5-0) will enter the weekend riding a seven-match win streak. ETSU has not suffered a setback since Feb. 23 versus No. 51 UNC-Wilmington, its longest such streak since 2012 when the Bucs won 14 straight matches en route to winning the Atlantic Sun Championships.
The Bucs are currently one of two remaining A-Sun teams with perfect records in league play, as No. 67 North Florida is 4-0 in the A-Sun. ETSU's match versus North Florida was cancelled March 28 due to severe rain in Jacksonville, Fla.
Sophomore Sebastian Yllera (Cinco Saltos, Argentina) and freshman Ismael Merino (Lima, Peru) have each won a team-best six consecutive singles matches.
Kennesaw State will enter the match with an overall record of 8-9 and a leage record of 2-4.
Meanwhile, Mercer currently sits in fifth place in the A-Sun with a conference mark of 2-3. Overall, the Bears are 8-14 on the year.
ETSU is unbeaten at home this season, having won each of its four matches at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.
Having won seven of their last eight matches, the Bucs (10-8, 5-1) will enter the weekend sitting in second place in the A-Sun, behind North Florida (6-0) and ahead of Florida Gulf Coast (6-2).
Junior Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) has won a team-best seven consecutive matches in singles play, while teaming with senior Giulia Andreazza (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil) to win five straight matches at doubles.
Kennesaw State (5-12, 1-5) will enter the weekend on a six-match loss streak, while Mercer (9-12, 3-3) has gone 4-3 over its last seven matches.
