JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct 12, 2013) – Select ETSU head coaches participated in a “meet and greet” with Buccaneers’ fans Saturday afternoon at Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Johnson City Mall.
Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., fans were greeted by ETSU head coaches Murry Bartow, Brittney Ezell, Tony Skole and Carl Torbush as they entered the store through the parking lot entrance. The coaches directed store-goers towards the ETSU apparel and also helped in signing up participants for various promotions and giveaways. The opportunity to interact with the coaches resonated well with the fans involved.
“It was good to meet all the coaches,” said Johnson City resident and former ETSU student Ted Pate, “and to be able to put a name to a face.”
In addition to the chance to mingle with coaches of the Blue and Gold, those entering Dick’s Sporting Goods through the mall entrance were also greeted by ETSU cheerleaders with informational materials and other giveaways. Mascot Bucky was also on hand to pose for pictures and to interact with fans.
The ETSU coaches involved were thrilled to have the opportunity to connect with those that support their teams and to continue to spread ETSU pride throughout Johnson City. First-year head coach Brittney Ezell expressed how impressed she is with the backing of the Bucs in the Tri-Cities.
“I’m overwhelmed with the turnout and the support,” said Ezell. “It is always fun to get out in the community and spread the word about the great things that are going on with ETSU athletics. I look forward to seeing them in the Dome for games this season.”
