DeLAND Fla. (May 23, 2013) – Fierce thunderstorms forced another schedule change to the 2013 Atlantic Sun Baseball Championship, resulting in the ETSU/Mercer game being moved to noon on Friday at Stetson’s Melching Field.
The Bucs were originally scheduled to play Thursday night at 8:15 p.m., but the heavy rains and lightning forced schedule changes to the evening session.
Florida Gulf Coast and Lipscomb were slated to start at 5 p.m., in an elimination game, but the Eagles and Bisons began at 6:45. However, with Lipscomb leading in the bottom of the second, the storms appeared and the game was suspended with the Bisons leading, 3-0. The game will be picked back up Friday at 9:30 a.m., which forced the ETSU/Mercer game to start approximately 30 minutes following that game.
The loser of Mercer/ETSU will face USC Upstate Friday at 6:30 p.m., in an elimination game.
