JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2010) - The top seeded ETSU men's soccer team is set to face the second seeded Stetson Hatters for the right to go to the NCAA tournament Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Atlantic Sun Finals at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
The Bucs' (14-5-0, 7-2-0 A-Sun) sophomore Theo Yang (Lilburn, Ga.) netted a golden goal with only 7.2 seconds left on the clock in double overtime to advance to the A-Sun Finals defeating Lipscomb 1-0. On the year, ETSU is 8-1 in home contests and 6-1 in overtime games.
Stetson (10-5-2, 6-2-1 A-Sun) advanced to the finals after downing Jacksonville in the semifinals 1-0. The Hatters defeated the Bucs 2-0 in the only meeting between the two teams this season in DeLand, Fla.
ETSU has not recorded a win against Stetson in the program's brief history with the closest contest coming in last year's A-Sun semifinals as the Buccaneers came up a goal short losing 4-3 to the eventual champions.
Ticket prices for the A-Sun Men's Soccer Tournament are $5 for general admission, $7 for reserved seating, and $2 for seniors (65 and older). Children 12 and under as well as students of the participating schools (with proper school identification) receive free admission.
The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will also host a pregame tailgate for Buccaneer fans at 2 p.m. in the north parking lot at Summers-Taylor Stadium. FREE food from One 12 Downtown Johnson City will be served prior to kick-off.
