JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 26, 2010) - The ETSU women's soccer team is set to face former Atlantic Sun rival Gardner-Webb Friday at 7 p.m. at Greene-Harbison Field in Boiling Springs, N.C.
The Bucs (1-0-0) come into the contest fresh off of a 4-1 victory over UNC Asheville this past Sunday. Senior Rachel Van Horn (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) had a two goal effort in the win as ETSU scored four goals in the season opener for the first time in the program's history.
ETSU is 1-2-1 all-time against the Runnin' Bulldogs, having won the last meeting between the two teams in 2007.
Gardner-Webb (1-0-0) also picked up a win in its season opener defeating Jacksonville State 2-0 on the road. Junior Megan Reimer scored both goals of the contest for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
