CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 16, 2010) - With the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track and Field Championships a month out, the Buccaneers look to make one last push by competing at the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday.

ETSU will face USC Upstate and Campbell from the A-Sun this weekend, along with the host 49ers, Davidson and UNC Wilmington.

The Bucs are coming off some strong performances last weekend in Knoxville, as senior Nic Chernikow (Seymour, Tenn.) claimed A-Sun Athlete of the Week honors on Thursday for his effort in the decathlon at the Sea Relays. Chernikow, who posted the second highest score among collegiate competitors, recorded a conference best 6055 points in the event.

Meanwhile, fellow senior Jordan Briggs (Erwin, Tenn.) also posted a season best mark in the pole vault (15-01), and Duronal Monal (Belle Glade, Fla.) and Mike James (Palm Bay, Fla.) heated things up on the track. Monal finished fourth in the 100m and won his heat in the 200m, while James continued clocking in with impressive times in the 110mH (14.29).

The meet kicks off at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer and long jump and the men's javelin.
