JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 12, 2010) - ETSU head baseball coach Tony Skole announced the signing of Bret Gallihugh (Sevierville, Tenn.) to the 2010-11 Buccaneer class on Tuesday.
Gallihugh joins left-handed pitcher Justin Willis (Knoxville, Tenn.), catcher Steven Monger (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and left-handed pitcher Clinton Freeman (Johnson City, Tenn.) on the 2010-11 signing class.
"We couldn't be more excited that Bret has decided to come to ETSU," Skole said. "We have watched Bret pitch for a long time now, and his development has been amazing to witness. He just continues to get better and better each year as evidenced by his outstanding performance this season. Bret will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact on our pitching staff. He is a great competitor who has a very quick arm. He will be a welcomed addition to our program, campus and community."
Gallihugh, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher comes from Pigeon Forge High School where he plays for Mike Guinn. A four-year letterwinner, Gallihugh was a member of the state runner-up Tigers and is a three-time all-district honoree. Gallihugh has compiled a 16-5 record in two years at Pigeon Forge striking out 176 batters in 117 innings.
