JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 29, 2009) -- Members of the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics volunteered their time on Wednesday to take part in Wacky Sports Day at the Carver Recreation Center in downtown Johnson City.
The event, which is sponsored by Hands-On Regional Museum along with corporate sponsors Chick-Fil-A and Wal-Mart, is aimed at getting children active and giving kids a chance to have fun playing unusual games and participating in different physical activities. With rain outside, the event was moved indoors.
"It's always great to be a part of efforts that help our community," said ETSU Associate Athletic Director for External Relations Jo Anne Paty. "Our department has 100 percent participation in community service efforts and today is just another example of that dedication to give back to the area."
