NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2008) - The ETSU men's soccer team dropped another close game Friday night falling to Lipscomb on a late goal at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tenn., 2-1.
The Bisons took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute as Garret Pettis netted a pass from Andrew Chamberlain. Lipscomb continued to put pressure on ETSU, but the Bucs were able to get on the board in the 37th minute as Kyle Franklin (
In the second half, both teams played back and forth until the 84th minute as Lipscomb was awarded a penalty kick after an ETSU foul. Miguel DeSilva took the penalty kick for Lipscomb, beating the Buccaneer keeper to put the Bisons on top 2-1. ETSU had a couple chances to tie the game in the final minutes, but the Lipscomb defense played tough denying an equalizing goal.
