JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 3, 2009) - The ETSU softball team closes out its five-game homestand on Saturday afternoon when the Lady Bucs play host to North Carolina Central. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. inside the ETSU Softball Complex.

The Lady Bucs are coming off a split over Appalachian State on Wednesday evening, where junior Cheniece Cason's (Moreno Valley, Calif.) two-out walk-off single and Marissa Hardy's (Rocklin, Calif.) two-hit shutout helped end a five-game skid for ETSU.

ETSU (19-14) looks to carry its momentum into Saturday's doubleheader and end the homestand with a 3-2 mark.

Junior catcher Trisha Massenzo (Russellville, Tenn.) has reached safely in all 13 home games, and is hitting .444 (16-for-36) with two doubles, a home run and 11 RBIs inside the new complex. Meanwhile, Cason has hit safely in four straight games and Hardy hasn't allowed a run in her last 12.2 innings.

Following play on Saturday, the Lady Bucs wrap up their busy week with a doubleheader at Longwood on Sunday. First pitch versus the Lancers is scheduled for 3 p.m.
