KENNESAW,
ETSU (6-24, 6-12) was out hit by Kennesaw 11-9 as the Bucs stranded nine runners and struck out seven times. The Bucs also committed four errors in the game leading to three unearned runs.
Kennesaw jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Jay Morrow drove in the runner from third on a grounder to second and Jace Whitmer hit a RBI double to left.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Owls would score three more runs on a single up the middle by Tyler Stubblefield and a sacrifice fly by Bucky Smith to make the score 5-0. The Bucs answered in the top of the fifth as Anthony Russell (
Russell would drive in another run in the top of the seventh as he just missed his fourth home run of the series doubling off of the Bailey building in left field to bring in Troy Mendez (
Kennesaw scored a run in the bottom of the seventh as Whitmer singled in a run to extend the Owl lead to 6-2. The Owls padded their lead in the bottom of the eighth as they would score a couple of runs on two Buc errors to make the score 8-2.
