"I was really pleased with our middles tonight," said head coach Lindsey Devine. "We practiced being faster in transition and all along the front and to be involved in the play so that we could open the right side and the outside. Callie and Kristan did a great job of that tonight and we were able to get the win."
Senior Callie Kiselich (
Senior Kaena Apana (
"Kaena is amazing and we rely on her so much, sometimes too much but she always makes the plays for us," Devine said. "Tonight Marissa played her third position of the season, and I am really pleased with her effort."
Freshman Whitney Cogburn (
"Whitney did a good job for us in the game, but when you have an injured player like Amanda who is cleared to play, they always have a hunger to get back on the court and play with a determination to do well," Devine said. "I think her getting back out on the court was the best thing that could happen for her and the team this week."
With the win the Bucs improve to 16-12 overall and 6-2 in conference play. The Bucs finish the week traveling to Boiling Springs, N. C. Saturday at 5 p.m. to take on conference opponent Gardner-Webb in their final conference road game of the season.
