Freshman Gould steps up for Lady Bucs at Lady Jaguar

AUGUSTA, Ga. (Nov. 7, 2005) - Freshman Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) posted a 78 to lead the ETSU women's golf team to a solid fourth-place standing following first round play Monday in the America's Choice Mortgage Lady Jaguar Invitational hosted by Augusta State.

 

Gould, who is currently tied for 10th, is currently seven strokes back of Augusta State's Lauren Smith, who holds the individual lead with a 1-under 71. On the team leaderboard, host Augusta State is on top by eight strokes over Notre Dame, with Arkansas State and the Lady Bucs within striking distance.

 

Along with Gould, both sophomore Natalia Giraldo (Cali, Colombia) and senior Laura Diaz (Aguadilla, P.R.) are tied for 16th with 79s, while senior Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.) is tied for 22nd with an 80 on the first day.
