(April 19, 2005) - The Lady Bucs basketball team has signed three recruits who will join the team for the 2005-06 campaign beginning this fall. Head coach Karen Kemp will welcome Sharnae Hunt (
Hunt will join the 2005-06 roster from
"Sharnae is a talented post player that has her best basketball ahead of her. She has all the physical tools to come in and contribute as a freshman. We will look to Sharnae to come in and give us some of the scoring and rebounding that we will miss with the loss of Tiffani," Kemp said.
Coming from a successful high school program, Stackhouse will make an immediate impact on the court for ETSU this fall. Her 18.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game highlight her explosive ability on the court both offensively and defensively. A 5'9 talented all-around athlete, Stackhouse will see time at both. Also playing on a highly successful high school team, Azubuike is a 5'10 shooting guard who will also see time at the point guard position. A three-year letterwinner for coach Greg Todd at Lexington Catholic, Adaeze was a member of the 2005 Kentucky State Championship team. A solid defender, Azubuike will make an immediate impact on the court for ETSU this fall. Adaeze's older brother Kelenna Azubuike was a member of the
"I am very excited about the signing of Adaeze, Farren, and Sharnae. Adaeze is a guard that can play both the point and shooting guard position, will look for her to make an immediate impact on the court for the 2005-06 season," head coach Kemp said. "Farren is an extremely talented athlete and will look to compete for instant minutes at the small forward position. With the addition of these two guards, our perimeter game will be even stronger than the past few years."
ETSU will enter its first season competing in the Atlantic Sun Conference this fall, and Kemp is very excited about the addition of the talented incoming class, "With the addition of these three talented freshmen and our returning veteran players next fall, the future for ETSU Lady Buc Basketball is on the rise and looking forward to great things in the Atlantic Sun Conference."
