(May 2, 2005) - The East Tennessee State University volleyball team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2005 season, the first season in which ETSU will compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference.  13 home dates, including conference competition versus Mercer, Stetson and Gardner-Webb highlight the 2005 schedule. 

ETSU will travel to Virginia Commonwealth in Richmond, Va. to begin the season where they will face Southern Conference foe UNCG, as well as host VCU and the Radford Highlanders.  ETSU will also take part in the Davidson-Mizuno Wildcat Tournament in Davidson, N.C. in early September where they will face off against Davidson, Duquesne and Howard University. 

ETSU begins Atlantic Sun competition at home versus Gardner-Webb on October 1^st, and will travel to North Florida and Jacksonville University in mid-October for their first conference road trip of the 2005 campaign.  ETSU will be led by third-year head coach Lindsey Devine, who looks forward to beginning competition in the Atlantic Sun Conference:

"We are very excited about the upcoming season this fall and look forward to competing against our new conference opponents," Devine said.  "Our schedule is very strong in 2005, and with the opportunity for 13 home dates we look forward to an extremely competitive year."

The Bucs completed their final season of competition in the Southern Conference this season finishing the year with a 7-22 overall record going 5-11 in conference play.  ETSU finished the season winning three of their final five contests of the year, while posting their first victory of the 2004 year against A-Sun opponent Lipscomb.
