ETSU men's and women's basketball host Fan Appreciation Day

Sunday, October 17, 2004

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2004) - The East Tennessee State University men's and women's basketball teams welcomed fans to campus on Sunday for the second annual Fan Appreciation Day in Brooks Gym.

The ETSU cheerleaders were present to pump up the crowd, door prized were given away to lucky fans, children were asked to compete in a free-throw shooting contest, and the highlight of the day included 10-minute scrimmages by both the men's and women's teams.

"It's good for our players to take some time and say thank you to our fans," said ETSU head coach Murry Bartow. "It's a great way to start the new season."

ETSU fans will get a chance to have another early preview of the 2004-05 season when the Bucs host the Blue-Gold Scrimmage on Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. in Brooks Gym. Tickets for that event will be $2 with part of the proceeds benefiting the Children's Hospital at Johnson City Medical Center.
