JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 1, 2003) - Buccaneer senior cornerback Tony Tiller (Lithonia, Ga.) was a selection to The Sports Network's 2003 Division I-AA Preseason All-America team, the organization announced today. Tiller is a first-team selection for the second consecutive season, as he also earned the honor prior to the 2002 campaign. Tiller has been the leader of the Buccaneer secondary over the last two seasons as opposing quarterbacks have become reluctant to throw to his side of the field. He was a first-team All-Southern Conference selection in 2002 after tallying a team-high eight pass break-ups and intercepting a pass. Tiller led the SoCon with seven interceptions during the 2001 season, his first as a cornerback. The SoCon had eight players elected to the team while the Big Sky Conference led all I-AA leagues by placing 14 players on the squad. ETSU opens its 2003 campaign on August 28 at 7 p.m. as they travel to Eastern Michigan. The Bucs home opener is on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. against Concord College.
