Women's Tennis Play Wofford Tournament

Spartanburg, S.C. -- The East Tennessee State women's tennis team took part in the Wofford Women's Tennis Tournament on Friday at Wofford College. Sophomore Jessica Irey defeated Kelly Bryant of Queens College 6-3, 6-1 in the Flight B round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Irey continued her win streak by winning 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1 over Wofford's Meghan Turner. Irey continues play on Saturday. In Flight C singles action, sophomore Aimee Villavicencio lost to Nina Lenaska 6-1, 6-1 in the Round of 16. Villavicencio also took on Emily Estes from UNC-Asheville. Estes won the match 6-3, 0-6, 6-3. Villavicencio teamed with Irey in the Flight B Doubles tournament. The Bucs lost to the team of Marcella Gonzalez and Paula Fillion of USCS in a tough match, 9-8 (5). Flight B Singles Round of 16 Jessica Irey def.
