JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - East Tennessee State captured its largest win in program history with a 109-41 victory against Warren Wilson College in ETSU'Memorial Center on Tuesday (Dec. 5).
Junior Dimeco Childress led the Bucs with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Freshman Jerald Fields (13), junior Cliff Decoster (11) and freshman Ryan Carson (11) also scored in double figures. Decoster added five assists and five steals. Freshman Sam Oatman dished a game-high six assists.
The Owls (1-7) were led by Josh Gilbert'17 points and Troy Terry'14.
ETSU (3-4) jumped out early scoring 19 of the game'first 23 points. The Bucs continued to build their lead before gaining a 43-point advantage, 55-12, on a three pointer by Fields with 1:33 to play. The Bucs led at halftime 59-17.
The second half spelled more of the same for the home team. ETSU outscored Warren Wilson 29-8 in the first 10 minutes. When Lawson hit a jumper with 4:38 remaining in the game, ETSU had its largest lead of 72 points, 101-29.
The Bucs shot 64.1 percent (25-of-39) in the first half and 50.0 percent (19-of-38) in the second stanza. ETSU made half of their three-point attempts (13-of-26).
The Bucs return to action at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 8 when they travel to Radford, Va. and face the Radford Highlanders.
