JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Led by Chris Wisler's third-place finish (68-75-71--214/-2), the men's golf team finished second at the Furman Intercollegiates in Greenville, S.C. The Bucs (282-300-296--878) were tied for the lead heading into the final round with eventual tournament champion Virginia (287-295-294--876), but fell two strokes short.
Wisler finished five strokes behind Maryland's Keith Unikel and Virginia's James Driscoll who tied with a three-round 209. Unikel won the individual medal in a playoff. Patrick Beste (71-71-75--217) earned the Bucs other top-5 finish, tying for fifth with Virginia's Steve Marino.
Also competing for ETSU was Adam Riddering (69-78-76--223/T-19) and Thomas Lee (74-76-74--224/T25).
ETSU will return to action at the Bell South Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. from April 14-15.
