Men's Golf Finishes Fourth At NCAA East Regional, Advances To NCAA Championships

Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State University Men's Golf Team finished fourth in the NCAA East Regional today to advance to the NCAA Championships, May 29 - June 3 in Opelika, Alabama. ETSU advanced to the NCAA Finals for the seventh consecutive year.

ETSU posted a three-round total of 888 over the Glenmaura National Golf Course in Moosic, Pa. The Bucs were led by freshman Thomas Lee with a three-round total of 219 to finish in a tie for 10th. Lee's finish was his highest of the season. Freshman Adam Riddering finished at 221 (t-17) to give the Bucs two players in the top-20. Pat Beste (225-t34), James Johnson (227-t50) and Chris Wisler (229-t62) also competed for the Bucs.

The fourth place finish marked ETSU's highest finish ever in an NCAA Regional Tournament. This year's tournament had been plagued by rain and six teams were cut from the field early Saturday morning in order for the tournament to finish on schedule.
