Whitson Wins Second Consecutive Decathlon Title at Southern Conference Track and Field Championships

Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State track and field teams are in weekend action from the Southern Conference Track and Field Championships from Lexington, Va.

Sophomore Andrew Whitson picked up ETSUs first title in the event, winning his second consecutive crown in the decathlon. Whitson totaled 6,233 points, outdistancing Appalachian States Chad Michael who compiled 5,795 points.

The ETSU track and field teams will return to action on Saturday in the final day of the SoCon Track and Field Championships.
